- The Traffic in Gainesville at most times of the day is horrendous
- There are too many people in Gainesville with cars that have the free time to be driving at 2 in the afternoon.
- The speed limit on campus
- The speed limit on campus needs to be low due the high amount of pedestrians walking from class to class
- The areas of campus that are blocked off during the day for cars
- These are blocked off because they are usually high traffic pedestrian areas.
- The workers at the local fast food restaurants tend to be unfriendly and give sub par service
- This could be because of the low rates paid to these type of workers
- The elevator in Social 28 always breaks down
- This happens because the elevator was poorly installed and Social 28 has yet to do anything to improve said elevator
- My headphones always fall out my ears when I go running
- This happens because the sweat causes the headphones to not stay in or because the headphones do not stay in the ear well to begin with and the motion of running loosens them up
- The line at Starbucks in Library West is always out of the door, regardless of the time of day, week, month, or year.
- This is because the students at UF are always busy studying and the caffeine found in coffee is a great energy booster for this task, making the Starbucks conveniently located in the library always busy.
- The interface of Web assign and how perfectly correct answers will be marked wrong and answers have to be in very awkward formats in order to count
- Anyone who has ever been unfortunate enough to be in a class that requires the work to be completed on web assign is aware that this program has many flaws. Although I am supposed to say why this bug exists, I am not aware of why this bug exists other than for the sole reason to further frustrate college students.
- How Southwest Rec is always out of men’s basketballs, but has an absurd amount of women’s basketballs in stock, despite the majority of those playing on the basketball courts being of male gender
- While girls still do participate in athletics at a percentage close to their male counterparts, The current situation out south west is that most, if not all people there playing basketball are usually men. This being the case the men’s balls are always out of stock while the women’s balls seem to be endless. I am sure that there is an equal amount of both men and women equipment. However, they should realize the problem by now and adjust their equipment accordingly.
- The Wi-Fi in my apartment is incredibly slow
- This is because social 28’s wifi does not have enough bandwidth for the amount of tenants they have using their internet.
- How you can’t register for a basketball game on the day of the game
- This is because they need to get a head count for the game ahead of time in order to process the tickets. It is still annoying though.
- The battery level on my Iphone/Macbook
- This is because Apple products tend to have low battery lives, encouraging customers to purchase more charges to have more access to battery life.
- How Iphone chargers always break fast and fringe at the tip
- Again, this happens so that customers will keep buying chargers which is a necessity when owning an Iphone.
- Dealing with towing companies and their employees, especially in Gainesville
- Dealing with tow companies is never a fun experience because the majority of the workers at these establishments are unfriendly and and only care about making money off your towed car. This makes it hard to get back without paying the ridiculous price because once they have your car, the ball is pretty much in their court.
- How proctor U has full access to anything on your computer when they proctor your exam, as opposed to just screen monitoring
- This is a feature they deem necessary in order to ensure you aren’t cheating, despite being able to see your screen and everything you are doing
- How almost every single critical tracking class for any business major in the Warrington school of business is semi or entirely web based
- This is due to the high volume of business majors at this university. Therefore the university is unable to provide the experience of an in person classroom setting for classes that are key to your major.
- How most clothes, even pre shrunk clothes, still shrink after their first cycle of being washed and dried
- This is due to all the science behind certain materials retracting or expanding when exposed to certain temperatures
- Not being able to bring outside food into any movie theaters
- This is because they prefer you purchase their over priced products, therefore taking away the freedom your favorite food in any desired place.
- How I misplace multiple things on a daily basis
- I don’t have an explanation for why this happens because if I knew it probably wouldn’t be happening anymore
- The gas Mileage on my Jeep Wrangler
- This is because gas mileage on jeeps is usually relatively low.
While coming up with this list, I did not experience much of a struggle of coming up with things that bug me until the very end. I found it relatively easy to think of things that bug me because I am always trying to find a solution to problems that I face in daily life.
Zack,
ReplyDeleteThe speed limit on campus is the worst. As someone who almost hits people all the time, I feel like it's necessary. What if we went 30? That would mean we actually went 35, which seems pretty dangerous. I feel like a lot of things are your bug list tie directly to some things on my bug list. I feel like most of our bug lists are pretty similar and UF specific. You can see how mine is so similar here: http://williamwright94.blogspot.com/2016/01/bug-list.html
Hey Zack, I also feel the same about the core classes at UF. I don't feel like I am actually getting the full experience with the amount of money I have to pay. We discussed this inn ethics, in that it is easy for teachers to treat students as numbers and not actual people due to the size of the classes. I believe that this actually hinders growth in learning because not everyone learns in the same way.
