Google Gold

1. For each blog post I made this semester, I pursued SEO in a few ways. The first way was to make sure that my blog HTML was strongly related to my post, as well as my title.  Creating my title was the next way i pursued SEO, and made sure the title always addressed the topic of my blog, so people that were searching got exactly what they were looking for.

2. The keywords I would use in my blog posts would vary relating to the posts topic.  For each topic, I would use an SEO key word search engine that showed the most popular key words for a certain phrase or subject that I had in my blog.  I would be sure to include these in order to maximize my potential views.

3. I used social media to share my blog with family and friends on sites such as Facebook and Twitter.  People I knew were usually supportive of my blog, and sometimes would even share it with their friends if they thought I had a really good post.

4. My most viral post was my Idea Napkin No. 1. I believe this blog received the most views because  it is the first time i expressed my product idea to the public, and I received very positive feedback on this post.  This post perhaps was shared amongst other viewers friends and could be why it was the most popular.

5. I sadly did not make it to the first page of google. The closest I got was the third page which I still am proud of.

Very short Interview no 2

From the first interview I had with Mr. Zullo, it showed me how hard work and determination can help you to achieve anything. My first interview showed me that it is not really what you know from the start, but how much you learn on the way.  When I went back to interview Mr. Zullo again, I asked him the following questions.

These questions were inspired by assignments we have had in this class and I wanted to know some of the answers to them from someone who has been through an entrepreneurial experience.
Question 1: In the next five or 10 years where do you see yourself and your business?
In the next 5-10 years I see myself running American Retrofits and at least one other company. I see myself implementing what I have learned with this business into new ventures while still maintaining this business.

Question 2: If the opportunity arose to where you were given the option to sell your business for enough money to keep you financially stable for the remainder of your life, would you accept the offer?
Yes I would accept the offer because I would be set for life and I would obviously just start another business
Question 3: The day you started your business would you have expected to be where you are today? Or did you expect to be less or more successful than you currently are

3. The day I started I didn't exactly envision all of this in just one day. The first day I started this business I started learning from every experience. It's like a science experiment a lot of things will happen good and bad and it's all about how you react to them. After I had a couple customers I already knew I loved what I was doing and I knew I could keep doing it because how large the market was and still is. I basically just mapped out steps and did one after the other to make sure that I got to where I am now. So if you asked me if I knew whether or not I would have gotten to this place I would tell you I knew the whole timeMy business would succeed at a great level but I would also say that actions speak louder than words. Just saying that I could sit and talk about where I think I'm gonna be in 5 years. Or I could start working hard everyday and get there.

Week 13 reading reflection

The most interesting and surprising thing to me by far was the Integration of Entrepreneurial and Strategic Actions.  This chart shows how entrepreneurial actions match up with strategic actions and how they overlap to create wealth.

The most confusing part of the reading was the tolerance of failure. I was confused as to what this had to do with the rest of the section.

The first question I have for the author would be what the other points on the integration chart would be outside of where they over lap.

My second for the author would for him to describe the tolerance of failure in greater detail.

I do not disagree with anything the author said.

Celebrating Failure

This semester, I failed at passing financial accounting.  I had to drop this class which was pretty disappointing because I thought I was doing well in it and understood everything.  What I have learned for the future is that I actually need to attend or watch lectures for this class to pass it.  This is something that I have never attempted for a class here, and until now I have been able to maintain A's and B's without every having to attend lectures.  I realize now that from now on I need to actually go to class for the harder classes for my major, and I will no longer live the life of a bum and will become a productive hard working individual.

My Exit Strategy

For my exit strategy, I plan to sell my business within the first few years after it taking off.  I would like to sell it to either a larger company or sell it to the university, so that they would make more profit off of it and be able to manage it on campus better.

I have selected this exit strategy because I believe this business is the type that has the potential to plateau in popularity.

My exit strategy did not really effect my concept or growth in my opportunity.  However, before I sell the business I would like to have to expanded to more products.

What's Next

The first three people I interviewed were asked about my current market and what they think would benefit it.  I did all audio recordings instead of film for this assignment because I dropped my phone and cracked the camera lens over the weekend.

Based on my customer feedback, I have decided that for the future to add the chargers to my current product.  I believe this has the highest potential to grow my market and expand my product.  I also am considering the option of adding higher quality headphones for purchase at the gym.

The next three people I interviewed were asked about a new potential market for my product and how well they thought it would work

From this new market, I learned my product has a lot of potential in commercial gyms as well.  What surprised me the most is that older adults actually liked this idea because I thought it was mainly popular with college kids.

Some of my assumptions about this new market were right.  I think this new market might appear to be more appealing to pursue as there is a higher profit regimen.
