Where I went is the kangaroo gas station right by my
apartment. I approached homeless people
because if I’m going to have to give away my money it might as well be to
homeless people who actually need it. They
way I intended to start the conversation is by going up to them and asking if
it is alright for me to give them a dollar. I believe I will be able to give
all of the dollar bills away.
I found giving away a single dollar not that hard. However, I found it a little harder to give
each dollar away the more I did it and by the 5th dollar, I was
pretty disappointed that I just gave away 5 bucks that I could have probably
spent on a dough religion pizza of the day.
I was right in assuming all 5 dollars would be taken, as I would
probably take a free dollar given to me.
Zachary, our strategies were pretty similar with this exercise, as I too approached random people without really giving them a reason why i wanted to give away the money. This allowed for more diverse interactions rather than scripting a fake reason. Many people were thankful and didn't have much to say beyond "thank you." ReplyDeleteHello Zachary,
ReplyDeleteOverall, I think this was a very creative and funny post! I did not think to approach homeless people, but what a great idea! This way, you don't really have to worry about getting rejected (my biggest fear), because I don't know why a homeless person would turn down money! I am glad you were able to give away all five dollars because I'm sure it made the homeless people very happy (even though you were sad at the end). You possibly even helped pay for a meal for them! Great work!
